Systems, devices, and materials for solid phase extraction (SPE) of analytes from complex liquid or solid matrices, using various sorbents and techniques, in preparation for chromatography; for a variety of sample sizes and types, and formats.
This plate is ideal for removing contaminants like salts and detergents from hydrophilic analytes, such as carbohydrates, prior to mass spectrometry analysis. It enables elution volumes as low as 25 µL, thereby eliminating time-consuming evaporation steps. The eluted carbohydrates can be analyzed directly by MALDI MS without any prior derivatization. This plate can be used alone for the purpose of extracting carbohydrates, or it can be used as part of our glycan analysis kit (Waters MassPREP Glycoanalysis Kit) to clean up the glycans released from glycoproteins after deglycosylation.

Sep-Pak Alumina B Vac cartridges contain a highly active grade of alumina with a basic surface chemistry. The aluminum oxide surface provides an extremely polar surface for analyte retention and has properties of a Lewis acid. This normal phase sorbent is similar in use to silica; however, it is slightly more stable than unfunctionalized silica under high pH conditions. This basic alumina is also low-capacity ion exchanger in aqueous media. Sep-Pak Alumina B Vac cartridges can be used to extract phospholipids, steroids, and catecholamines. Since Sep-Pak Alumina B is unaffected by high-energy radioactivity, these cartridges can be used for radioactive compound isolation. These syringe-barrel-type cartridges are designed for use with vacuum manifolds and automated SPE instruments.

Sep-Pak Alumina N Plus Light cartridges contain a highly active grade of alumina with a neutral surface chemistry. The aluminum oxide surface provides an extremely polar surface for analyte retention and has properties of a Lewis acid. This normal phase sorbent is similar in use to silica; however, it is slightly more stable than unfunctionalized silica under high pH conditions. This neutral alumina is suitable for applications such as synthetic crude oil fractionation. These cartridges have a distinctive finned outer body and a reduced internal diameter, which results in an interstitial volume about one-third that of the corresponding Plus-style cartridge. This design allows you to elute fractions in a minimal volume to improve recoveries and reduce solvent consumption, a benefit especially for applications where samples are limited or where excessive dilution is a concern.

Sep-Pak Accell Plus CM Plus Light cartridges contain a silica-based, hydrophilic weak cation-exchanger with large pore size (300Å). The cartridges are designed for extraction of cationic analytes in aqueous and non-aqueous solutions. The large pore size makes it ideal for isolation of molecules such as cationic proteins. Other applications include extraction of steriods, pesticides, and herbicides.
